Kicking off his first solo exhibition in New York, Korean artist Dressvanximo presents "The Stranger", a deeply personal visual narrative spanning seven years of creative struggle and growth.
Since his first solo show in 2019, the artist has consistently remained active each year, yet his work has often been met with resistance in the Korean art market. Labels such as "unsellable" or "not for your living room" have followed him—but rather than deter him, these judgments have only strengthened his conviction and sharpened his voice.
"The Stranger" is a visual archive of Dressvanximo’s lived experiences—his joys, his losses, and the quiet moments in between. It reflects the reality of being an outsider, not only within the art world but also within one’s own country.
